Mecater conducted a pre-feasibility design of a filtered tailings storage facility with a capacity of 32 Mm3 and a height of 108 m. The facility would be constructed at the downstream toe of the TSF berm and will form part of the eventual TSF closure. The KO2 TSF is a large storage facility: 63 m high and 44 Mm3 capacity which has been in operation since 2009.
